    Our client is looking to hire a results-driven Regional Finance Controller to help support our organization’s financial performance.

    Position Summary:

    The Regional Finance Controller will be partnering with the Region SVP and supervise all finance activities within the region. He/she will report to the CFO. In coordination with the shared service center, he/she will ensure billing, general accounting, cash collection & vendor payments are accurate for the region. He/she will also lead FP&A activities, support operations in pricing new jobs and find efficiencies to improve profitability.

    The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be detailed oriented, highly organized, and have excellent leadership and communication skills.

    Essential functions:

    • Supervise month end close for the region in coordination with the central accounting team: ensure revenue for the month is properly billed or accrued, that all costs are properly captured the month they occur, make sure revenue and costs are coded properly by branch and customer
    • Review and validate the P&L of the region before submission to the corporation (D+7). Analyze and explain variances
    • Produce monthly detailed analysis of the gross margin by customer, explain variances, work with operations to find efficiencies to improve GM for low margin customers
    • Ensure accuracy of job costing: maintenance of the job numbers database, correct cost allocation per job number
    • Manage the 3 years plan, budget and monthly forecast process for the region
    • Validate all vendor invoices and work closely with the central AP team to ensure new vendors are properly set up and all vendors paid on time
    • Work closely with the AR & cash collection manager and operations to follow overdues and reduce the DSO
    • Assist commercial in pricing new jobs and make sure realized gross margin for new customers is aligned with the GM that was sold
    • Support internal and external financial statement audits and other compliance measures as necessary
    • Liaise with operations and key stakeholders to explain actual results and provide ad-hoc reporting as needed
    • Prepare analysis for bad debt, compensated absences, workers’ compensation, and general liability accruals
    • Participate in initiatives to streamline current processes as assigned

    Qualifications, other duties and responsibilities:

    • At least 15 years’ experience in the Security/ Labor/ Staffing Industry (mandatory)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required; fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities within rigid deadlines (monthly closing is due at D+7)
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (e.g., pivot tables, vLookup formulas, if/then formulas)
    • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
    • Software savvy and able to learn quickly; Winteam knowledge is preferred
    • Must be detailed oriented, professional, and reliable to work independently
    • Candidate must be self-motivated and have strong work ethic

    Working Conditions:

    • Position based in San Francisco CA. Preferably hybrid.
