    ABOUT: The New York Charter Schools Association (NYCSA) is a nonprofit membership organization that serves as a unified voice for New York's over 300 public charter schools and 150,000 public charter school students, representing their interests at the state and local levels. The Northeast Charter Schools Network (NECSN) is a nonprofit network organization that supports the work of both the New York Charter Schools Association (NYCSA) and the Connecticut Charter Schools Association (CTCSA). With NECSN's support, NYCSA works to enact change in the public charter school sector that will have a significant impact on student outcomes. You can learn more about NYCSA here.

    POSITION: The Event Planning Intern, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, will support NYCSA's Operations and School Support teams with planning and hosting the New York Charter Schools Conference and other events as needed. This is a summer internship opportunity, with the opportunity to extend for the Fall through December 2024.

    PAY & HOURS: $18 per hour, 15 to 30 hours per week.

    LOCATION: Remote to Hybrid in New York State, with a strong preference for applicants who will be in the NYC Metro area for the Fall 2024 semester.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: The Event Planning Intern will assist with the following tasks, organized into three main categories:

    Sponsor Management:

    • Sponsor solicitation and outreach
    • Sponsor marketing and promotion
    • Tracking and coordinating sponsor logistics

    Event Planning and Logistics:

    • Tracking and coordinating presenter logistics
    • Assisting with event venue and vendor coordination
    • Updating and maintaining event databases and attendee lists

    Data Management and Administrative Support:

    • Data organization and entry in platforms like Monday, Hubspot, and Google Sheets
    • Updating and maintaining contact databases
    • General administrative support as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    While not required, preference will be given to applicants with:

    • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, especially Hubspot
    • Familiarity with event management platforms such as Whova
    • Strong data management and spreadsheet skills
    • Coursework or experience in event planning, project management, or related fields
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
