  • Responsibilities
    • Make individual work assignments within the department as necessary to satisfy production requirements.
    • Assign temporary associates to positions and insure that they receive proper training per established training procedures. Perform periodic checks to insure compliance with training.  Give “working tour” of department on first day.
    • Insure policies and procedures are followed.
    • Understand all processes in the department including use and care of equipment, machinery, audit procedures, customer/supplier relationships and one piece part flow, etc.
    • Assist and facilitate in problem solving activities with other associates.
    • Work with outside departments to resolve production issues - part shortages, spec deviations, die/fixture failures, etc.
    • Track non-production time for all associates for override sheet documentation.
    • Process time cards, override sheets and crosscharges.
    • Perform periodic checks of internal processes and follow-up to insure that all quality standards are being met
    • Stay for non-mandatory overtime as required meeting customer needs.
    • Responsible for ensuring completion of departmental paperwork (scrap tickets, 5S, gamma sheets, overrides, training reports, etc.) as assigned by supervisor.
    • Must be willing to work in any area as required by supervisor to meet customer demands.
    • Provide timely written input for associate performances appraisals.
    • Insure a safe and clean working environment.
    • Insure materials are available for production.
    • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
    • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent strongly required.
    • Ability to stand 8 hours or as required by department production activities.
    • Ability to lift maximum weight requirement per department specification.
    • Must have good basic math skills.
    • Must be able to use any pneumatic/hand tools as required for department production.
    • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice when necessary to meet customer needs.
    • Must have demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Must have minimum of 24 months experience within the Invacare facilities.
    • Must have had no Progressive Problem Solving for the past 12 months.
    • Must have had no careless accidents within the past 24 months.
    • Must be able to attend all scheduled training classes.
    • Ability to work with others in a team environment to accomplish group goals.

    • Understand basic math, mechanical aptitude and space visualization.
    • Must be reliable and punctual. 
    • Must be able to perform long hours of repetitious work.
    • Must be able to lift, pull and push 50 pounds, 35 pounds on a regular basis.
    • Ability to work varying shifts, overtime and/or weekends.
