    SUMMARY: 

    The Product Manager owns the product category and is responsible for establishing the category portfolio and overseeing product lifecycle from new product launch through obsolescence.  As the “general manager” for their category, Product Managers are responsible for the P&L (Sales and Gross Margin) and for maximizing sales revenues, market share, and profit margins. Product Managers analyze the market and partner with commercial and new product development teams to define product features and functions and map out the strategy and execution plan to bring them to market.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Define the product category vision and align stakeholders around the vision for the category: develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive, five-year strategic category plan which includes competitive strategy development, pricing analysis, sales/revenue forecasts, new product launches, and analysis of sourcing, manufacturing and distribution options.
    • Manage the entire product line lifecycle from strategic planning and tactical activities to end of life product rationalization activities. Drive streamlining and eliminate redundancies and duplication within the category.
    • Monitor the market, develop and communicate competitive analyses: understand the customers, internal stakeholders, business model and global market.
    • Understand and represent user needs. When applicable, lead other Product Managers in the management of their respective product lines and direct necessary tasks/projects, as required.
    • Prioritize product features and capabilities, balancing regional needs with the global decision(s) by understanding the costs and benefits of each choice
    • Manage new product launches in partnership with the new product development team including planning and executing pre-launch demand generation activity; leading logistical, promotional and sales support activity during launch; and driving post-launch tracking and marketing programs to maximize sales.
    • Accountable for resolution of critical issues during the entire life cycle of the products including an active and leading interface with development team, plant operations and supply base.
    • Foster a sense of inclusion among the team, valuing the diversity of ideas, strengths and cultural background each member brings to the team.
    • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS/BA in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in a fast-moving consumer goods, medical device, or durable goods company which entails experience in ideation and portfolio management to drive the commercialization of new products, processes and services.
    • Project management and leadership skills, ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage, lead and take ownership – strong interpersonal & communication skills:  capable of effectively communicating, verbally and in writing, to global counterparts, members in other functional teams, and healthcare professionals.
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills; experience managing a P&L preferred.
    • Clinical and/or technical understanding of medical devices or technology preferred.
    • Background in respiratory therapy a plus
    • Strong analytical influence, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and negotiation skills. Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and across multiple functions.
    • Resilient in the face of obstacles.
