    We are actively seeking an individual to join our dynamic Pharmacy team as PRN (as needed) Pharmacist. This position will work evenings (until 8pm), weekends and holidays.

    SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: This polished and professional person will have excellent patient relations and communication skills. The Pharmacist, with assistance from the Pharmacy Technicians, shall perform clinical tasks and administrative duties such as answering the phones, entering, filling and verifying prescriptions, completing sales transactions, entering patient information into the pharmacy information system and performing other duties as assigned in an effort to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and efficiently.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Reviews prescriptions by Physicians and other providers.

    Directs pharmacy technicians engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.

    Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.

    Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.

    Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.

    Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.

    Instructs other medical personnel on matters pertaining to the pharmacy.

    Communicates with and treats company’s customers of various ages.

    Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.

    Comply with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations.

    Accounts for cash as appropriate or required.

    Performs all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Two or more years of Pharmacist experience, preferably in a clinical setting is preferred. Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy program is required along with an Alabama Pharmacist license in good standing.

    Working knowledge of office practices, patient relations, medical law and ethics. Pharmacists must be a caring and compassionate person able to put patients at ease using excellent communication skills. Computer proficiency is required and experience with software such as RX30, EHS, Word, Excel and other program are strongly preferred. Must be able to read and write legibly and follow written and verbal instructions.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    The specific work environment for this position is a multiple doctors’ facility working in the clinical area. Pharmacists usually work in well-lighted, clean environments. They constantly interact with other people and may have to handle several responsibilities at once. The position requires continual stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required.
