NorthStar Transitions is looking for Residential Counselors to work in our men's luxury residential treatment facility in Ward, CO. We encourage candidates of all genders to apply! This is a great entry level position for those who have an interest in working with clients with substance use disorders, especially candidates who are pursuing or are interested in pursuing their Certified Addictions Counselor in Colorado!
DUTIES:
• Conduct rounds to monitor clients
• Enforce program rules and expectations
• Administer UA and BA tests
• Facilitate and participate in therapeutic groups and activities (with therapist permission)
• Conduct searches of clients and client possessions/rooms
• Problem solve as issues arise
• Assist client with needs as they arise
• Resolve conflicts between clients as they arise
• Help clients to coordinate treatment schedule
• Ensure the house is adequately stocked with food and supplies
-Communicate ANY and ALL facility issues and inventory shortages to the Program Manager
• Ensure the house is well maintained and clean
• Document all client encounters in electronic health records system (EHR)
-Progress Notes as appropriate
• Respond to and manage crises and emergencies as they arise
• Comply with state and federal laws including HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or GED
• Pass initial and on-going random drug testing
• Proficient with technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior experience working in behavioral healthcare or substance abuse treatment
• CAC I or CAC II
• QMAP certified

• Ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries with clients
• Ability to communicate well with clients in the early stages of recovery
LOCATION
Please note: our Lodge facility is located remotely in the beautiful mountains outside of Ward, CO. NorthStar Transitions provides a company vehicle for transportation to and from Boulder and the facility.
SCHEDULE 3x 12 hour shift per week
