    POSITION PRIMARY PURPOSE: The BSA Specialist assists with the implementation of the Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Program, under guidance of applicable laws, regulations and Credit Union policies. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for submission of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) to FinCEN, pulling and cross referencing reports with information obtained from branches, internal reports, and from BSA software system to ensure CTRs are submitted to FinCEN accurately and within the required timeframe. • Communicate with employees and/or management to address questionable or missing CTR information. • Provides assistance, support, and responds to questions and information requests by Credit Union personnel regarding CTRs. • Reviews CTR information for suspicious activity and refers to the Senior BSA Specialist or BSA Officer. • Monitors trends and patterns with certain branches or employees concerning CTR reporting deficiencies. Keeps Senior BSA Specialist and BSA Officer informed of these statistics or issues. • Communicates with branches to update missing or incorrect MIP information. • Reviews transaction alerts in BSA software system and immediately refers potentially suspicious alerts to Senior BSA Specialist for further investigation and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) determination. • Create, track and monitor Behavior review cases for activity determined to be normal and ongoing. • Aids in creation and monitoring of new business account risk profiles. • Researches wire alerts for potential OFAC matches and immediately refers positive matches to OFAC Compliance officer and/or Senior BSA Specialist. • Surveys monthly and quarterly noncash monetary instrument reports. Refers any findings to Senior BSA Specialist for further investigation • Maintains current on all compliance knowledge including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, OFAC regulations. • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding BSA reporting, including keeping SAR information on a need–to-know basis. • All other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years' experience at a financial institution required. Experience in a BSA, compliance, loan, collection and/or fraud department is preferred. EDUCATION: High school diploma (GED equivalent) required. Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in business or finance a plus. BSACS or CUCE designation required. DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES: • Ability to read and understand banking policies, procedures, written instructions, general correspondence; etc. • Ability to function effectively as part of a team or on individual tasks and assignments. • Ability to manage time effectively, manages multiple projects, and complete work within established deadlines. • Ability to perform detailed, analytical work. • Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn data processing systems. • Strong communication skills both oral and written. • Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking.
