    POSITION PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Responsible for assisting the Accounting Department by performing a variety of tasks related to financial reporting, general ledger balancing, and general accounting functions. Performs a variety of activities necessary to assist the management team in maintaining the financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union.

    THIS IS A PART-TIME, 30 HOURS PER WEEK, 6-MONTH, LIMITED-DURATION ROLE WITH BENEFITS.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reviews and verifies outgoing wire transfer requests. • Reviews and posts incoming wire transfer requests. • Extracts data from reports to use in balancing processes and analysis. • Researches, balances and problem solves GL accounts. • Prepares schedules and journal entries for input into the General Ledger. • Completes monthly general ledger reconciliations. • Assists in preparation of monthly financials and other requested regulatory reporting. • Assists in providing internal and external auditors, as well as examiners, requested financial information. • Prepares periodic accounting reports as requested by manager. • All other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: One (1) year in an Accounting or Finance position is preferred. EDUCATION: High School Diploma (GED equivalent) required. A secondary level degree with an Accounting or Finance focus is preferred. DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES: • Strong work ethic, initiative, problem solving, and decision-making skills. • Able to perform routine tasks and work with manager direction. • Able to listen, understand and use confidential information with discretion. • Demonstrates quality of work, is productive, and is thorough and accurate in work performed. • Ability to work accurately with figures and to perform detailed work. • Demonstrates an attitude of dedication, accountability, and ownership in daily activities and projects. • Maintains excellent oral, written, and personal communication skills. • Able to successfully work as a part of a team; excellent interpersonal skills. • Demonstrates basic Excel knowledge. • Demonstrates knowledge of introductory accounting principles.
