Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology, Full-time, Days
Job Description
We are looking for Academic Clinical Physicists to be involved in day-to-day clinical services in the department of Radiation Oncology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Faculty appointment at Northwestern University Fienberg School of Medicine at appropriate rank (Assistant/Associate Professor) could be provided based on academic strength. The department currently includes 10 Medical Physicists, 10 Dosimetrists; treats 120+ patients a day; and provides extensive external beam treatment (5 Linac’s) with imaging modalities (OBI, CBCT, MRI), including SBRT, SRT, 3DCRT, TBI, TSET, IMRT/VMAT, Gamma Knife, Hyperthermia, LDR (prostate seed) and HDR (Gyn) Brachytherapy as well as a MRIdian ViewRay MR-Linac. We have 9 Medical and 2 Physics residents in the department along with a Medical Physics Assistant.
This position is specifically intended for a Clinical Medical Physicist with 2-5 years of experience with ABR certification completed or in progress. An ideal candidate will be board certified with a PhD in Medical Physics and has strong communication skills with the ability to work in a large group.
Candidates are encouraged to participate in various aspects of clinical research as well as teaching programs including mentoring therapy students and residents (MD and Medical Physics).
