    Job Description

    The PRODUCTION AIDE reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

    Responsible for the production and service of hot or cold food menu items and special function items.

    Prepares hot food items for patients, cafeteria, Home Delivered Meals and special functions at times scheduled for each group.  Taste-tests foods prepared before service.  Prepares bakery items as needed.

    Completes assigned food production duties independently and on time.

    Prepares and portions salads, desserts and special nourishments in a neat an attractive presentation.

    Follows recipes and measures accurately for all foods prepared.  Minimizes waste.

    Responsible for portion control, quality control and manner of service for all hot food items used.  Provides needed utensils for next meal.

    Assists in preparation of Home Delivered Meals.

    Works the patient tray line serving foods attractively and proper serving temperature.

    Taste-tests foods prepared before service according to established procedures.

    Responsible for proper heating and/or cooling, storage, and rotation of all foods used.  Follows HACCP guidelines as established.

    Documents temperatures using the Sensitech system.  Documents ACorrective Action@ for all temperature failures.

    Labels and dates foods and open ingredient containers.

    Responsible for safety and sanitation of equipment in work area.  Reports unsafe

    conditions or equipment in need of repair.

    Cleans and sanitizes work area and readies for next meal.

    Follows posted job routines.

    Responsible for updating himself or herself on meeting minutes and posted memos.

    Attends all In-services and production meetings when scheduled.

    Is attentive, responsive, respectful and works cooperatively with other employees.

    Performs other inherent duties related but not limited to the above.

    Under direction of the area supervisor, orients and trains employees assigned to

    the work area.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • High School graduate.
    • Must be able to do basic arithmetic calculations in order to convert recipes to quantity requirements. 
    • Cooking experience required (hospital preferred).
    • Must be able to read and write in English. 
    • IDPH Food Sanitation Certification required.
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and convert recipes to quantity requirements. 
    • Must be able to cope with constant deadline pressures.

    PREFERRED:

    • Knowledge of equipment operation and recipe measurements preferred.
