    Job Description

    The **GME Program Manager **reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

    _ Responsibilities:_

    • Provide administrative management for Graduate Medical Education (GME) that supports and advances the patient care and academic goals of NMHC.
    • Serve as liaison with McGaw Medical Center of NU, GME Program Directors and Coordinators, and hospital and health system departments and services to maximize success of residency and fellowship programs with more than 800 appointed trainees.
    • Ensure that NMHC fulfills accreditation requirements for these GME programs at all training sites across the health system.
    • Manage access to and provision of all NMHC resources and support services required by the health system’s graduate and undergraduate (GME and UME) educational programs.
    • With the Director of Academic Affairs, serve as a point person for GME planning and problem-solving.
    • Manage NMHC educational operations at all clinical sites within the health system under the direction of the Director of Academic Affairs (e.g., NMH, NMG, NLFH, Cadence).
    • Coordinate NMHC’s educational communications to achieve clarity, effectiveness, engagement:
      • Oversee direct communications with residents and fellows.
      • Liaison with Chief Residents Forum (CRF), McGaw Residents and Fellows Forum (MRFF), and Resident Town Halls on issues of concern to the house staff.
      • Liaison with GME Program coordinators:
        • Organize GME Program coordinator work groups that can access NMHC support to meet resident and fellow needs.
        • Conduct annual GME program coordinators retreat with McGaw
      • Staff GME Program Director meetings.
    • Liaison with McGaw staff to ensure coordinated communications to all GME stakeholders (i.e., Departments, Medical School, McGaw member hospitals, and health system.)
    • Assist in the development and management of the GME budgets including restricted funds and operating budgets.
    • Manage ACGME’s CLER (Clinical Learning Environment Review) accreditation process and site visit to ensure successful accreditation of all NM house staff programs.
      • With Quality Strategies, manage integration of residents and fellows into NM quality plan and hospital process improvement initiatives and patient safety projects.
      • Coordinate all CLER activities with McGaw DIO (Designated Institutional Official) and staff.
    • Oversee NM orientation and on-boarding process for all new residents and fellows.
    • Manage processes to access NMHC infrastructure required by GME (e.g., on-call rooms, conference space, meals-on-call program, IT, ID Badge, pagers, ACLS, lockers, parking, and other support programs and benefits.)
    • Manage NMHC’s process for documenting GME accreditation, regulatory, and policy requirements (e.g., CLER data, flu compliance, HIPAA & Power chart training, National Provider Identifier, etc.).
    • Coordinate GME institutional agreement process for new rotations, including electives and new standing rotations.
    • Manage specific GME special projects assigned by the Director of Academic Affairs.
    • Solve GME problems and issues brought by house staff, physician leadership, and all other medical center constituencies.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Required :**

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
    • Two to 4 years of experience in hospital and / or physician practice settings.
    • Strong communications, analytical, planning, and data management skills.

    ** Preferred :** __

    • Master’s degree preferred; required in place of work experience.
