    Job Description

    This position acts as a liaison between NMH, Graduate Medical Education, faculty, residents, and the Department. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, self-directed, and will possess excellent writing, verbal, organizational, and customer service skills - adhering the NMH Patients First Philosophy. The Housestaff Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the residency program. This involves coordinating the administrative aspects of educational programs/functions, functioning as a team leader for educational programs/functions, delegating responsibilities to an assistant coordinator (ensuring smooth and successful execution of educational programs/functions), and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations from our institution and accrediting bodies. To be successful, this position requires critical thinking skills, the ability to make "meaningful and independent judgements" and the authority to delegate responsibilities an assistant coordinator. Complete all GME related surveys (ACGME, AAMC, Frieda, GME Track, etc.). Schedule rotation, call, vacations, exams and educational functions for housestaff ensuring appropriate coverage. Requires keen critical thinking as each schedule is inter-related and dependent on the other and if not prepared appropriately clinical coverage issues will arise.

    Required: BA/BS plus experience in Graduate Medical Education a plus.
