If so, the International Coordinator opportunity may be the perfect fit for you! We are seeking a patient-focused professional with a medical interpreting or case management background to join our dynamic international health team! This is a key role within our international health team, with the opportunity to collaborate with medical advisors/government health authorities.
Our International Coordinators are regularly scheduled to work Monday through Friday, Day shift. There is also an on-call component, and corresponding on-call compensation, associated with this role. On-call responsibilities are rotated equitably amongst the International Coordinators supporting our embassy patients. The primary working location for this position is in the heart of downtown Chicago, Illinois, with flexibility for up to two remote days per week, upon completion of training/orientation.

The **International Coordinator **reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The International Coordinator provides a single point of contact for Northwestern Medicine international patients, families, referral sources and payers. The International Coordinator serves as an advocate of the patient, physician, health care provider, reimbursement source, and the health system. The coordinator will orient each patient to Northwestern and each facility, as well as identify any non-medical needs each patient may have. Ongoing collaboration is required with the physician, Social Worker, primary nurse care coordinator, home care coordinator, financial counselor and other members of the multidisciplinary team to individualize the treatment plan, identify barriers, decrease resource utilization, thus achieving appropriate patient outcomes as well as maximizing financial reimbursement.
