Job Description
The Program Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Program Manager is responsible for managing various programs housed within the Office of Professional Practice and Development as well as leading the development, implementation and evaluation of new initiatives consistent with annual strategic goals and objectives.
_ Responsibilities:_
- Manages the privileging process for non-employees who require access to NMH for the purposes of patient care or research.
- Manages the placements of undergraduate and graduate nursing students seeking clinical experiences at Northwestern Memorial.
- Interfaces with clinical liaisons at affiliated schools and colleges to manage contracts, clinical requests and on boarding of students.
- Provides leadership for projects that support the organization's ongoing Magnet designation.
- Provides leadership for the development and monitoring of metrics to measure the effectiveness of all programs overseen by the OPPD.
- Develops and administers annual fund budgets including tracking of all expenditures for special events and initiatives.
- Leads strategic programs and initiatives to advance the work of the OPPD consistent with annual strategic planning efforts.
- Collaborates with patient care leaders in developing, implementing and evaluating programs/systems/initiatives to advance nursing excellence throughout NMH.
- Assures that appropriate standard and policies are developed, communicated, implemented and evaluated in a timely and effective manner.
- Implements and applies service standards established for the OPPD.
- Develops and maintains a continuous quality improvement program within the OPPD, consistent with JCAHO guidelines, regulatory requirements and Magnet sources of evidence.
- Develops, implements and tracks metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
- Provides monthly updates to the Director of Professional Practice including progress on department goals and objectives; and identified outcomes measures.
- Interprets information, makes recommendations for improvement, and implements changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the OPPD.
- Serves as project manager for major initiatives that further the strategy and vision of the OPPD and Division of Nursing.
