    Framatome is seeking a Government Relations Specialist. The position will be based in the Washington, DC. Under limited supervision, acts as a liaison on behalf of the company in support of the federal government affairs portfolio.  May engage with legislative entities, advocacy organizations, and the general public.  Acts as main point of contact for Political Action Committee (PAC), and liaison with business units to provide strategic support. May write and review policies that support organizational goals and provide regular reports on potential opportunities/issues. Maintains an understanding of nuclear energy policies and may serve as subject matter expert on company legislative priorities.  Reports to the Director of Government Affairs.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Act as a Framatome representative with Congress, supporting a policy portfolio in line with Framatome business priorities.
    • Monitor activities of legislative entities relevant to Framatome Inc priorities, engage with key Congressional Committees and stakeholders, and support outreach to federal agencies.
    • Provide regular updates and analysis on pending legislation and political activity to key Framatome business leaders.
    • Provide organizational support for the Framatome, Inc. Political Action Committee, including compliance with the Federal Election Commission, internal solicitation strategy, election cycle spending plan, and PAC Board administration
    • Coordinate internal and external issue outreach efforts and track results, as necessary.
    • Remain current on regulatory and political issues that affect the nuclear industry.
    • Assist in the promotion of the Framatome PAC to employees while also helping to increase membership.

     

     

    TRAVEL: Up to 25%

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • BS/BA degree, or directly related equivalent experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of related experience. An advanced degree (MA, MBA, or JD) may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience

     

     

    THE FOLLOWING MAY BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
    • Knowledge of federal energy policy and ability to quickly scale to specific Framatome programs, ability to think strategically when implementing government affairs strategy. 
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
    • Proficient in using PC-based applications such as MS Office or similar software.
    • Preference will be given to candidates that possess an advanced degree equivalent to a JD, MBA, or with experience working with Congress or a Federal Agency Administration.
    • Preferred location will be Framatome’s Washington, DC office.

     

     

    OUR TOTAL REWARDS PACKAGE

    The range of base salary for the position is between $90,000- $123,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

  • Qualifications

    Intermediate understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices 

    Intermediate knowledge of applicable codes and standards as well as project procedures 

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills         

    Understanding of multiple engineering disciplines 

    Must possess a DOE “L” clearance or the ability to obtain a DOE “L” Clearance
