    Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate AP World History Tutor/Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of world history, excellent teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. This position involves teaching AP World History to high school students, preparing them for the AP exam, and inspiring a love of history.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Curriculum Development and Instruction:

    Plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive and engaging lesson plans that align with the AP World History curriculum.

    Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

    Incorporate primary and secondary sources, multimedia resources, and interactive activities to enhance student learning.

    Assessment and Evaluation:

    Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, essays, and projects, to evaluate student understanding and progress.

    Provide constructive feedback on assignments and exams to help students improve their skills and knowledge.

    Prepare students for the AP World History exam by conducting practice exams and review sessions.

    Classroom Management:

    Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that promotes respect, discipline, and academic excellence.

    Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

    Student Support and Engagement:

    Offer additional support to students through one-on-one meetings, tutoring sessions, and office hours.

    Encourage student participation and engagement in class discussions and activities.

    Foster a passion for history and lifelong learning.

    Professional Development:

    Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of world history and AP curriculum changes.

    Attend workshops, conferences, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching skills and content knowledge.

    Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.

    Communication and Collaboration:

    Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.

    Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional learning communities.

    Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and the overall mission of the school.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

    Experience teaching high school history, preferably AP World History.

    Strong knowledge of the AP World History curriculum and exam requirements.

    Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

    Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: From $40.00 per hour
