Job Description

WE ARE SEEKING CREDENTIALED EDUCATORS TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-11 BY FACILITATING OUR NOVELLA STUDY SKILLS PROGRAM. ADDRESSING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF EFFECTIVE LEARNING, INCLUDING EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING SKILLS, TIME MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATION, AND PLANNING, OUR TEACHERS ASSIST STUDENTS TO ACHIEVE INDIVIDUAL GOALS, DISCOVER AND ENHANCE SKILLS AND TALENTS, AND CULTIVATE PERSONAL AGENCY TO OPTIMIZE ACHIEVEMENT.

THIS POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE

Responsibilities Include:

• Meets virtually with students one-on-one each week to develop note-taking skills, improve planning, organization, executive functioning skills, and focus, improve writing, track and optimize performance, provide academic enrichment opportunities, and more

• Is responsive to student and parent communications, developing a rapport with Novella families

• Integrate college advising through resume development, course selection, and cultivation of career interests

• Meets with Novella staff regularly to discuss student progress, issues, and areas for improvement

• Additional responsibilities, as needed (i.e. copyediting)

Requirements:

• State or provincial teaching credentials, special educator preferred
• Minimum 4 years of teaching experience with relevant student age groups
• Ability to meaningfully engage with students virtually
• Strong time management, communication, and organization skills
• Availability between 3:30pm - 8:30pm EST most weekdays for 2-3 hour blocks. Weekends optional.
