    JOB BRIEF

    We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to develop machine learning models that enrich our conversational service's interactions with users. If you want experience using machine learning to manage actions in a live production environment, then this is a great position for you. You'll collaborate with our software engineering team to deploy and manage natural language processing and reinforcement learning models in a cloud-based service that handles thousands of live user interactions every day. Novo Labs is a rapidly growing start-up with fresh venture capital funding. We provide a conversational commerce service for taking restaurant orders through high-volume voice channels, such as the phone, drive-thru, app, and kiosk. We turn voice interactions into digital transactions that can be personalized and optimized using our artificial intelligence platform (that you will be working on!).  So far in 2019, our end-to-end service has taken over 50,000 live conversational restaurant orders through a voice channel without any human intervention. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Hands-on experience developing and deploying natural language processing and/or reinforcement learning models to solve real-world problems
    • Passion for working on real-world applications for machine learning
    • Experience performing statistical analysis with a variety of data structures
    • Experience with SQL and Git
    • Ability to rapidly self-train on new developments in machine learning
    • Highly experienced in Python and some experience in Java or Scala
    • Willingness to further sharpen coding skills to assist in deployment of models
    • Passion for solving complex problems
    • Enjoyment of sharing knowledge and collaborating with teammates
    • Excited to work in a start-up atmosphere
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. (at this time we do not sponsor work visas)

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or other quantitative major
    • Master's Degree preferred if you don't have significant prior experience
