    Nspiregreen/CHPlanning Ltd. is recruiting a qualified individual to join our firm as an Associate Land Use Planner.     Nspiregreen/CHPlanning offers a diverse range of urban planning services, including: • Urban Design • Transportation Planning • Environmental Planning • Land Use • Public Engagement • Communications/Graphic Design • Racial Equity and Social Justice

    Duties include: • Leading, listening, organizing and communicating a variety of goals and visions and sometimes difficult discussions with community groups, regional and local working groups, a variety of department and leadership level staff, as well as internal team/project members. • Analyzing existing plans, zoning ordinances and urban design guidelines. Proposing improvements to and applying a variety of land use patterns and zoning regulations • Coordinating, presenting, and participating in planning meetings with teams, citizen groups/committees and a variety of local agencies • Researching current and emerging trends in land use planning, land development, affordable housing, development incentives, and economic development issues and timely environmental concerns • Developing creative and feasible strategies to resolve planning, land development and redevelopment issues, including analyzing land use patterns and zoning regulations. • Developing work plans and schedules for projects and team members. These plans will vary from overall project planning to day-to-day project management • Creating, drafting and finalizing planning reports and documents that include but are not limited to Comprehensive Master Plans, Existing Conditions Reports, Long Range Planning Studies, Public Realm Studies, urban Design Guidelines, Housing and Neighborhood Stabilization Strategies • Making recommendations and providing direction on major development proposals, long-range planning studies. • Serving as lead or contributing planner in evaluating related client projects for consistency with approved plans, latest planning practices and local ordinances • Presenting findings and recommendations on current policy and planning issues to a wide multi-disciplinary team members, clients and agencies. • Participating in evening and weekend community visioning workshops , community days, homeowner or community meetings, workshops and other events to gather data and obtain community input.

    Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Architecture/ Landscape Architecture or directly related field; and • Two (2) years of experience in urban planning/designing, community planning, landscape design, transit-oriented planning, development review, or related field. Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with a master's degree in related field and/or experience in one or more of the following: • Project management and plan implementation strategies in community planning studies. • Planning, urban and architectural design and other best practices, such as Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), Sustainable Design; Smart Growth, Biophilic Design, Equity in Planning. • Utilizing mapping or graphic software, such as 3D modeling, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, or GIS, Sketch-Up/3D. • Preparing and presenting study findings, complex reports, project plans, and recommendations and • Working and communicating effectively in multidisciplinary project/team environments, with the development community, citizens, neighborhood groups, community advisory boards, and elected officials and clients. Compensation & Benefits:

    • Competitive compensation:

    0-2 years of experience starting salary $50,000 / annually.

    3-5 years of experience starting salary $70,000 / annually

    6-10 years of experience starting salary $83,000/ annually 
    

    11-14 years of experience starting salary $115,000/ annually
