Position: Transportation Planner Location: Washington, DC. Philadelphia, PA./Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Nspiregreen/CHPlanning Ltd. is currently recruiting a qualified individual to join our firm as a Transportation Planner. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate, motivated, and looking to take their career to the next level. Nspiregreen is headquartered in Washington, DC and is a subsidiary to CHPlanning.
Our primary mission is to provide communities and infrastructure suppliers with the planning, engagement, and management solutions they need to address the most complex infrastructure challenges with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion. We have continuous work on the cutting-edge trends in multi-modal transportation opportunities, including planning for transit-oriented development, pedestrian/bicycle mobility projects, transit system analysis, transit system development in light rail, commuter rail and bus rapid transit systems. Nspiregreen/CHPlanning provides services in many areas of urban planning including:

Duties Include:
Gather, compile, and analyze data
Assist in the preparation of maps and other graphic aids utilizing a variety of software such ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Prepare studies and research for proposed transportation projects
Study the use and operation of transportation systems
Understand the principles of modeling for transit and transportation systems using software such as Simplified Trips on Project (STOP), Florida Standard Urban Transportation Model Structure (FSUTMS) or other similar modeling products.
Analyze transportation impacts
Make presentations on transportation-related issues
Develop transportation recommendations for improvements in state, regional and urban areas
When necessary, advocate for policy directions that support alternative modes of transportation
Plan and participate in meetings and presentations for elected officials, agencies, and clients regarding transportation solutions
Plan and attend client meetings
Participate in networking and professional development events
Plan deliverables and manage project schedules to ensure timely accomplishment of deliverables
Report accomplishments and deliverables in monthly and quarterly reports
Perform administrative and project management tasks including:
Developing scopes of work and contractual documents
Preparing monthly reports
Workload projections and deliverables
Project scheduling
Participate in proposal writing and other business development activities
Build Alternatives Analysis
Write technical reports resulting from planning and design workshops with clients
Assist in creating public information, outreach materials, community messaging, assisting with graphics and document design, and managing social media.
Assist with public outreach strategies and techniques, planning and staffing community meetings and special events
Technical Requirements:
MS Office Suite,
GIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri software),
Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator).
Strong written and oral communications skills are required
Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team
Capacity to work some weekends and evenings on occasion for public meetings.
Capacity to travel regionally if required
Educational Requirements
Experience 1 - 4 years:
Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred in Urban Planning or a related field such as civil engineering, landscape architecture, geography, public policy, etc.
Experience 4-10 plus years:
Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred in Urban Planning or a related field such as civil engineering, landscape architecture, geography, public policy, project management. Managerial or leadership experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation:
0-2 years of experience starting salary $50,000 / annually.
3-5 years of experience starting salary $70,000 / annually
6-10 years of experience starting salary $83,000/ annually
11-14 years of experience starting salary $115,000/ annually
