PET: Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of current work experience in Nuclear Medicine and PT/CT.
- Hold a current and valid ARRT (N) certification and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
- Have demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV), radiopharmaceutical injections, and contrast injections. IV certification is preferred but not required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Picture Achieving & Communication Systems (PACS) work experience; however, AGFA PACS experience is preferred but not required. Training provided as needed.
Duties: Shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:
- Independently operate Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT scanner equipment to perform variety of complex NM and PET/CT imaging exams and follow strict NM safety practices established by national standards.
- Shall receive patients, explain method of procedure(s), position patients, select and set technical parameters, set up and adjust accessory equipment for imaging.
- Operate computerized NM and PET/CT camera imaging systems and other specialized equipment.
- Performs clinical diagnostic examinations and procedures utilizing calibrated radio tracers and radiopharmaceuticals, i.e., PET and PET/CT, general and cardiac studies producing high quality nuclear medicine static, dynamic, and Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT).
- Also, performs complex clinical diagnostic laboratory examination.
- Shall be subject to the same quality assurance standards in meeting or exceeding current recognized national standards.
- Shall set up NM and PET/CT suite assuring that sterile supplies, radiopharmaceutical or radio tracers are calibrated properly, catheters, and other required equipment and supplies are present and available. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceutical or radio tracers and contrast material intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s), but not independently as required.
- Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System, archiving images, post processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.
- Shall also maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package, and the Computerized Patient Record System.
