- Under the direction of the Route Manager and with safety, efficiency and customer service a priority, the Route Coordinator is responsible for performing the dispatch functions in a manner that will insure prompt, efficient delivery of Porta Kleen services to its customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create daily driver routes in Roadnet and print manifest.
- Verify the accuracy of routes.
- Assign daily service tickets to appropriate drivers and routes.
- Aid drivers in making calls regarding placement/move vehicles blocking service/open gates etc.
- Resolve any stop codes from previous day.
- Investigate and resolve all customer complaints. Follow up with customer as needed and discuss with management if necessary.
- Answer incoming calls from drivers and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Assist sales in organizing “same day“ service.
- Monitor driver’s routes throughout the day to make sure that are on track.
- Communicate with operations on manpower during event season.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle emergency responses to customer needs and insuring all personnel, equipment and supplies are dispatched quickly.
- Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with the scope of responsibilities.
- Must be willing to work weekends, and Holidays as necessary and in a non-traditional setting with limited travel.
Required Skills
- Associate Degree or high school equivalent with 2-4 years’ experience in transportation or logistics.
- Knowledge in dispatching in a service industry.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Professional oral and written interpersonal communication.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Knowledge of federal DOT regulations preferred.
