    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

    The Director of Business Development (“DBD”) is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities within the assigned region. The DBD will assist in staffing and directing a sales team as well as provide leadership towards the achievement of revenue growth with maximum profitability in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the assigned region/area and contributes to the development, education and training of Assistive Technology Professionals, referrals and Rehab Technology Suppliers.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Manage a team of up to 2 direct reports.
    • Responsible for the Training and Development of ATP’s through Boot Camps and other trainings
    • Participates in the hiring, development and reorganization of the sales department, appropriate for the region/area, and the company’s current and future growth strategies.
      • Assists sales team in preparation of proposals and presentations.
    • National account management including but not limited to:
      • QPRs/score carding
      • Advocacy and relationship management,
      • Communication to the RVP, AVP, Divisional EVP and EVP of Sales regarding performance.
    • Responsible for development and implementation of strategic growth initiatives to expand the region/area referral base.
      • Maintain key customer relationships.
      • Development and delivery of training and education through regional NuFairs and training events.
      • Initiates and coordinates development of sales plans to penetrate new markets.
    • Research and development of Lifestyle Upgrade
    • Compliance of preferred products
    • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines in conjunction with the RVP and DSO.
    • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
    • Acts as a role model for all employees, and exemplifies the company culture.

    Required Skills

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field is preferred.
    • Experience in a clinical/therapy role highly desired.
    • Experience working in an ATP role highly desired.
    • Proven successful experience in business development.
    • A minimum of 4 years of direct sales experience, with at least 2 years of sales management experience in a business-to-business sales environment required.
    • Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals.
    • Ability to develop a comprehensive organization wide sales strategic plan that is aligned with the organization’s annual income requirements. Ability to implement this plan throughout the sales organization
    • Accepts accountability and demonstrates a willingness to seek solutions rather than find fault with others. Expects accountability from subordinates.
    • Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; analyzes market and competition; identifies external threats and opportunities; adapts strategy to changing conditions.
    • Sets and achieves challenging goals; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; measures self against standard of excellence; takes calculated risks to accomplish goals. Expects goal achievement from subordinates.
    • Inspires and motivates others to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others; provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both written and orally.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities to meet expected deadlines.
    • Able to think quickly, assess a situation accurately and make a sound decision.
    • Able to use technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Possesses solid critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • Exceptional presentation skills
    • Individual is assertive, self-directed; able to work without supervision.
