    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Field Engineer completes rehab deliveries to include fittings and modifications.  The Field engineer role responds quickly to service requests inside territory area, by any travel means necessary to complete the work in a specified period of time.  Participates in major initiatives as directed to improve service and repair. The Field Engineer will service and repair complex manual and power wheelchairs as well as other medical equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications. This role will operate independently within a defined “region” or “quadrant” of the country covering several states.  This individual will be responsible for overseeing and leading Service and Repair activities within their defined region for the workers’ compensation division. This role requires independent judgment, discretion, problem solving and will have the authority to deviate from standard practices to meet client needs._  _Position will access current information from manufacturers to properly repair and maintain medical equipment. Field Engineer will ultimately be responsible for complete care of all CRT for each workers’ Comp claimant within their territory and for the addition of new claimants to their caseload as injuries occur.  This model allows for accurate recounting of claimant equipment needs and fast execution of those needs.  The field engineer must also be comfortable working with injured parties and their families to ensure proper training and safety measures are met with each claimant, a high catastrophic injury population.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ability to travel as needed (up to 100% of the time) to facilitate delivery, modification, or repair
    • Supports the Assistive Technology Practitioners (ATPs) in attaining specified time parameters around completing services and repairs.
    • Oversee’s deliveries and fits equipment, assuring functional goals established at the evaluation are met.
    • Acts as a technical resource for other technicians and provides support as needed.
    • Assembles equipment as needed.
    • Provides training and mentorship to other technicians as assigned by manager.
    • Proactively identifies opportunities for efficiencies and quality improvement.
    • Assists with loaner fleet management, building and delivering loaners in alignment with loaner order process.
    • Maintains rental/stock equipment clean and in reliable working order.
    • Sustains a clean, organized and safe work environment in the shop/warehouse.
    • Maintains delivery vehicle(s) in clean and safe operating condition.
    • Complies with all applicable standard safety procedures and regulations.
    • Attends company in-services training sessions as required.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Stays abreast on supplier technical training and shares knowledge with other technicians.
    • Identifies and reports any recurring technical issues from the assigned region.
    • Diagnoses, obtains quotes and repairs equipment in the shop and field.
    • Receives and ships equipment related parts.
    • Assures documentation is complete and accurate, with proper signatures, and promptly submitted.
    • Identify and take photos of any and all issues at client residence that need to be addressed and convey this thoroughly to claims specialist.
    • Educates customers and caregivers of proper use, care, and safety of equipment.
    • Communicates effectively with Claims Specialists at CorLife regarding needed items and obtains quotes related to these needs within 24 hours.
    • Answers emails communications at minimum every four hours.

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    •  High School diploma/GED required or Associate’s degree in related discipline preferred.
    • Organized and efficient travel skills
    • Minimum two year of CRT, Complex Seating and mobility equipment repairs
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical and narrative items related to a claim.
    • Ability to multitask including traveling, in person claimant meetings and email communication in a timely manner.
    • Adept in mentoring and training others.
    • Ability to have a “people first” approach when assisting customer’s needs.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of product market and competition
    • Basic computer skills (Word Processing, Email, and Internet) required.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
    • Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision.
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
    • Valid State Driver’s License with a satisfying driving record.
    • Ability to travel via all commercially available means
