Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with complex infectious diseases. Your key responsibilities include:
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, comfort measures, and safety needs while maintaining strict infection control protocols appropriate to the unit's special pathogen environment
- Support Clinical Excellence: Collaborate with the RN to gather patient information, monitor vital signs, and report observations that inform individualized care planning and patient outcomes
- Respond to Patient Needs: Promptly respond to patient requests and emergent situations according to established procedures, demonstrating clinical judgment and composure under pressure
- Maintain Safety Standards: Adhere to infection prevention protocols, proper handling techniques, and safety procedures to protect patients, yourself, and the healthcare team in this specialized infectious disease setting
- Contribute to Team Success: Actively participate in unit operations, communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, and uphold Henry Ford Health System's Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions
