We are looking for an experienced assistant nurse manager in the OR department to train new nurses and supervise existing staff. The nurse manager sets the standard of care in a healthcare facility, manages assigned funds for the department, and responds to complaints from patients.

To be successful as a nurse manager you must have patience when training new staff. A good nurse manager can multitask under pressure.

Nurse Manager Responsibilities:

• Hire and train new staff members.
• Supervise staff during shifts.
• Create a budget for the department.
• Respond to patients' complaints or concerns.
• Discipline staff when necessary.

Requirements:

• ACLS, PALS, NRP certification may be required for positions in specific departments.
• Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge nurse.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, & budgeting.
• Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission & other federal, state, & local regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
• ACLS certification strongly preferred.
• OR/CVOR ANM
