Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) to provide day-shift leadership for a high-acuity emergency services department in Overland Park, Kansas.
This role is responsible for the daily clinical and operational management of the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager partners closely with emergency services leadership to support quality outcomes, staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.

Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations and staffing for the Emergency Department
Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based emergency nursing care
Monitor clinical outcomes, patient safety indicators, and throughput performance
Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
People Management
Lead, coach, and develop emergency nursing staff
Support onboarding, competency validation, and performance management
Promote staff engagement, accountability, and retention
Quality & Performance Improvement
Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
Support patient experience and service excellence strategies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to meet departmental and organizational goals
Administrative Support
Assist with scheduling, productivity management, and staffing efficiency
Support department initiatives aligned with emergency services strategy
Qualifications
Required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact eligible)
3+ years of recent acute care Emergency Department leadership experience
* Charge Nurse experience considered; manager-level experience strongly preferred
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or actively pursuing (completion within 2 years)
Prior experience in a trauma-capable or high-volume emergency department
Required Within 90 Days of Hire
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
ENPC or PALS
