Overview
Lead a 33-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation unit within a large, high-acuity hospital setting. This Nurse Manager role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, staff engagement, and operational performance in a collaborative, patient-centered rehab environment.
This position offers strong leadership visibility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to impact patient recovery outcomes across complex rehab populations.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the inpatient rehabilitation unit, ensuring safe and effective patient care
Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management
Maintain 24-hour accountability for unit operations, quality, and patient outcomes
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Manage staffing, productivity, and resource allocation to support operational efficiency
Participate in financial planning, budgeting, and cost management for the unit
Lead performance improvement initiatives and support regulatory compliance
Serve as a liaison for physician relations and patient experience initiatives
Conduct staff education, meetings, and ongoing professional development
Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and evidence-based practices
Qualifications
Required
Active RN license in Texas or compact license
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field
3–5 years of clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation
3–5 years of leadership or management experience
BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
ACLS within 12 months of hire
Preferred
CRRN certification (required within 3 years of hire)
Experience with Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scoring and UDS-PRO credentialing
Strong background in interdisciplinary rehab care and outcomes management
