    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with proven management expertise to oversee nursing operations in our state-of-the-art long-term care facility. This full-time day shift position with rotational weekend coverage reports directly to the Director of Nursing and provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and unit clerks across our specialized care units.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily nursing operations and staff management across skilled nursing and special needs units
    • Implement quality improvement strategies to ensure exceptional patient safety and outstanding resident/family experiences
    • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff while fostering a collaborative, empowering work environment
    • Ensure compliance with New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations and healthcare standards
    • Coordinate interdisciplinary care delivery and facilitate effective communication among healthcare team members, physicians, patients, and families
    • Allocate resources efficiently to promote compassionate, fiscally responsible nursing care
    • Participate in recruitment, selection, retention, orientation, and credentialing of nursing personnel
    • Utilize analytical skills to assess departmental needs, develop interventions, and evaluate outcomes
    • Manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and lead project management initiatives
    • Maintain proficiency with healthcare management systems, electronic health records (Meditech preferred), and Microsoft Office applications
    • Supervise care delivery in behavioral health and neurobehavioral units, as well as short-term rehabilitation services

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse (RN) program
    • Current, active New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
    • Minimum 2 years of recent Nurse Manager or nursing leadership experience in a long-term care (LTC) facility
    • Demonstrated consistent work history in skilled nursing or long-term care settings
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead diverse healthcare teams
    • Knowledge of management systems, processes, and organizational leadership principles
    • Familiarity with NYS Department of Health regulations and compliance requirements
    • Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
    • Ability to work rotational weekends as required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience managing Special Needs Units or behavioral health programs
    • Nursing Supervisor or Assistant Director of Nursing experience
    • Proficiency with Meditech electronic health record system
    • Advanced certification in geriatric nursing or long-term care management
