Overview
We are seeking a motivated Nurse Manager – Progressive Care to oversee daily operations of a 40-bed MCSD E5 Progressive Care Unit. This role is based in a Magnet®-designated, nationally recognized hospital that provides advanced cardiovascular and critical care services. The Nurse Manager will guide nursing operations, lead a strong team culture, and ensure consistent delivery of safe, quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and accountability for daily operations of the Progressive Care Unit.
Supervise, mentor, and coach nursing staff to ensure professional growth and engagement.
Collaborate with senior nursing leadership on planning, innovation, and quality initiatives.
Allocate resources to support efficiency, safety, and excellent patient outcomes.
Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and hospital standards.
Recruit, onboard, and retain nursing staff while promoting a positive unit culture.
Utilize clinical, human resource, and financial data to drive evidence-based decisions.
Promote research and evidence-based practices in clinical and operational processes.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent (ADN/BA with MSN)
Active RN license in North Carolina or eNLC Compact state
BLS Healthcare Provider certification
Minimum 5 years of recent nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant hospital-based clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills
National Certification in leadership or specialty within 1 year of hire (or within 1 year of graduation if actively pursuing a degree)
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
Previous leadership experience in an acute care setting

Base salary: $95,000 – $120,000/year
