The Opportunity
This Nurse Manager role places you at the center of care delivery for a Special Needs Unit within a Long Term Care skilled nursing facility in the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team—CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks—while driving quality outcomes, patient safety, and a resident experience built on dignity and compassion. Your leadership will shape how care is delivered, how staff grow, and how the unit performs.

Your Day-to-Day
- Lead and supervise CNA Trainees, CNAs, Senior CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks across the unit
- Implement strategies that achieve uncompromising quality, patient safety, and an exceptional resident and family experience
- Create an environment that fosters staff empowerment, development, and best-practice nursing care
- Allocate resources efficiently to ensure compassionate, fiscally responsible care
- Coordinate care across departments through inter-disciplinary collaboration and clear communication
- Assess departmental needs, develop interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and the ongoing professional development of your team
- Ensure compliance with DOH requirements and maintain familiarity with relevant regulatory standards
- Provide age-appropriate, population-specific care that respects each resident's unique needs across the lifespan
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program
- Current New York State RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor experience in a Long Term Care facility
- At least 2 years of nursing or Long Term Care experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across staff, patients, families, and physicians
- Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience with a Special Needs Unit or geriatric population
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech
Note: Weekends are required on a rotational basis.
