Job Description
Overview
A high-volume Emergency Department in the Panama City region is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Emergency Services to lead evening-shift operations, staff performance, patient care quality, and departmental workflow.
This ED features 44 beds , manages 140–180 patients daily , and serves as a primary emergency access point for both adult and pediatric patients. The Nurse Manager oversees approximately 55.8 FTEs , working closely with the Emergency Services Director to ensure efficient operations and engaged, high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily evening-shift operations to ensure safe, high-quality emergency nursing care.
Provide hands-on leadership including supervision, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Develop and maintain staffing schedules in collaboration with senior leaders.
Ensure compliance with policies, safety protocols, and competency standards.
Support onboarding, education, precepting, and ongoing professional development for new staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency clinical practices, equipment, and trends.
Ensure timely repair, maintenance, and readiness of ED equipment.
Conduct and verify required quality control checks (emergency equipment, temperature logs, etc.).
Assist with clinical procedures and direct patient care as needed.
Utilize department data, metrics, and performance indicators to drive improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
Qualifications
Required:
3–5 years of recent ED leadership experience in an acute-care hospital.
Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma; must be enrolled in a BSN program.
Active RN license (Florida or Compact).
BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
Strong communication, team-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience leading high-volume emergency departments.

Salary range: $86,000–$116,000/year , based on experience.
