    Job Description

    Position Overview:
    Ready to lead at the next level? We are seeking a motivated Nurse Manager of Critical Care (Medical ICU) to oversee a 16-bed adult medical ICU. You’ll guide a team of ~45 FTEs, reporting directly to the Director of Critical Care, and drive excellence in patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational performance.

    This role is ideal for a collaborative, forward-thinking ICU leader who thrives in high-acuity settings and is passionate about patient-centered care, team development, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Direct daily operations of the Medical ICU, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care

    • Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to advance quality outcomes and compliance

    • Develop and implement policies that improve patient safety, throughput, and overall experience

    • Lead, mentor, and engage staff while managing labor resources and scheduling effectively

    • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and departmental performance metrics

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred

    • Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in ICU/Critical Care

    • Current RN license in Texas or Compact state license

    • BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required

    • CCRN and/or CNRN preferred

    • Strong understanding of patient experience, quality measures, and regulatory standards
