    Position Overview:

    The provider delivers comprehensive primary health care, including health promotion and disease prevention, in collaboration with department physicians. The role involves managing a diverse patient population, making evidence-based clinical decisions, and ensuring high-quality, culturally competent care in a collaborative environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing or a physician assistant program
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Valid APRN or PA license in the state of Connecticut (preferred)
      • Eligible for DEA and state narcotic registration
    • Experience: 1–2 years’ experience in an ambulatory or urgent care setting preferred
    • Language: Spanish language proficiency preferred
    • Additional Requirements: All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. All new employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless approved for a reasonable accommodation.
    • Skills:
      • Deep knowledge of nursing or physician assistant theory and practice
      • Ability to provide high-quality, comprehensive, professional clinical care

      • Skill in taking medical histories, assessing conditions, and interpreting findings
      • Proficiency in electronic health records
      • Strong documentation and organizational skills

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive primary health care, including health promotion and disease prevention activities
    • Collaborate with department physicians and refer patients to consultants as appropriate
    • Take medical histories, assess conditions, interpret findings, and make evidence-based clinical decisions
    • Maintain timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation
    • Deliver culturally competent care to a diverse patient population
    • Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and stakeholders
    • Comply with department and organizational quality measures
    • Utilize electronic health records and other computer systems
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Examination Responsibilities:

    • Conduct physical exams and health assessments
    • Gather and document patient medical histories
    • Assess and monitor patient conditions

    Medical Oversight Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with supervising physicians for diagnosis and treatment planning
    • Refer patients to specialists or consultants as needed
    • Ensure compliance with established clinical standards and protocols
