    Position Overview

    CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary and urgent care at a federal correctional institution in Cumberland, Maryland. FCI Cumberland is a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp, located approximately 2.5 hours west of Baltimore in western Maryland. You will manage a panel of incarcerated patients, conducting sick call, chronic care, and intake evaluations under physician collaboration.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans
    • Manage chronic disease clinics
    • Perform intake physical examinations
    • Prescribe medications per BOP formulary
    • Order and interpret lab and diagnostic studies
    • Provide urgent care and coordinate transfers
    • Document encounters in BOP electronic health record
    • Participate in quality assurance and infection control

    Required Qualifications

    • MSN with NP certification or Master of PA Studies
    • National certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA)
    • Active, unrestricted Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
    • Active DEA registration
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Ability to pass federal background investigation

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Correctional healthcare experience
    • BOP clinical guidelines familiarity

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary: $125,000 - $160,000 annually
