Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary and urgent care at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia. You will manage a panel of female inmates, conducting assessments, chronic care visits, women's health screenings, and intake evaluations under physician collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
- Manage chronic disease clinics and women's health screening programs
- Perform intake physical examinations including gynecological assessments
- Prescribe medications per BOP formulary guidelines
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Provide urgent care and coordinate transfers
- Document encounters in the BOP electronic health record
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control
Required Qualifications
- MSN with NP certification or Master of PA Studies
- National certification (AANP/ANCC or NCCPA)
- Active, unrestricted West Virginia license (or ability to obtain)
- Active DEA registration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Women's health NP certification (WHNP)
- Correctional healthcare experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $115,000 - $150,000 annually
