CST Responsibilities and Duties

A Surgical Technician/OR Tech may perform any of the following duties to prepare the room and the patient for the surgical procedure:

• Daily Pay Available
• Shift rate $36 - $50 per hour
• Setting up the instruments and equipment required for the surgery
• Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
• Preparing the patient for surgery
• Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
• Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies before the operation 
• Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
• Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS FOR THIS POSITION: 

Candidates must have at least one year of on-the-job CST experience, ideally experience in these specialties: general, pain, ortho, spine, plastics, bariatrics, ENT, sports medicine, robotics. 

Possess a professional and friendly personality, and enjoy working with people of all ages. In addition, candidates must demonstrate strong organization, self-motivation, and multi-tasking abilities. Finally, discretion and integrity are of the utmost importance with all interactions.

Current rates are $36-$50 with opportunities for bonuses. As market rates change, many facilities will update to stay competitive on the platform.
