Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a full-time Nursing Clinical / Lab Instructor (ADN & PN Programs) position. This position plays a critical role in facilitating student learning in clinical and laboratory settings, ensuring alignment with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and industry expectations.
The salary range for this positions is $50,150– $56,450 (salary will vary depending upon educational credential and years of experience).
The selected candidate will also be eligible to participate in the College's health, dental, and vision plan, as well as the State of Kansas KPERS retirement system. This position is also eligible for relocation/moving expenses up to $2,000.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas (or eligibility for licensure)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
Associate degree in Nursing required
Demonstrated expertise in clinical practice areas relevant to assigned rotations
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing
Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience
Experience with simulation-based education
Familiarity with student assessment practices
Experience working with diverse, rural, or nontraditional student populations
Overview of Essential Responsibilities
Supervise and instruct nursing students in clinical settings (e.g., hospitals, long-term care facilities, community health agencies
Facilitate lab and simulation experiences, including skills validation and competency assessment
Evaluate student performance in clinical and lab environments using established program criteria\
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student development and success
Simulation Lab & Skills Lab Responsibilities
Set up and prepare simulation equipment, supplies, and mannequins for lab activities
Assist instructors and students during simulation exercises and skills practice
Operate simulation technology, including computers, software, and audiovisual equipment
Prepare lab spaces for scheduled sessions and reset rooms following use
Ensure lab environment is clean, organized, and safe at all times
Clean and disinfect equipment between sessions in accordance with infection control and safety guidelines
Restock supplies and maintain inventory of lab materials and equipment
Troubleshoot basic technical issues during simulations and lab activities
Support students with basic instruction on equipment use and lab procedures
Document lab usage, equipment issues, and supply needs for program tracking and planning
Assist with scheduling and coordination of simulation and lab activities
Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory procedures consistently
Program & Collaboration Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with:
Program policies and procedures
Clinical site requirements
Safety, confidentiality, and professional standards (HIPAA, infection control, etc.)
Collaborate with course faculty to align clinical/lab experiences with didactic instruction
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and evaluations
Participate in program meetings, training, and professional development
Support accreditation and regulatory requirements (e.g., Kansas State Board of Nursing)
