Nursing Director – Labor and Delivery

Location: San Antonio, Texas Job Type: Full-Time Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Management Experience: Director or manager level 3–5 years preferred in labor and delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director – Labor and Delivery to lead daily operations, staff, resources, quality initiatives, and patient care within the department. The Director will oversee department performance while ensuring regulatory compliance, patient safety, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily Labor & Delivery operations and nursing staff.

Manage department budgets, staffing, resources, and equipment.

Recruit, coach, develop, and evaluate staff.

Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and performance outcomes.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Monitor department performance and use data to improve operations.

Address staffing, performance, and employee development needs.

Promote efficient workflows, cost management, and service excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

5+ years of experience in the nursing specialty/discipline.

3–5 years of progressive management experience preferred.

Current Texas RN License required.

Active BLS certification required upon hire.
