Position Summary:
The Nutrition & Kitchen Coordinator supports daily school operations by ensuring classrooms are stocked with snacks and meals, maintaining an organized kitchen, and assisting with food preparation and delivery management. This role plays a key part in creating a safe, efficient, and nurturing environment for both children and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute daily snacks to classrooms in accordance with school schedules
Receive, organize, and properly store food deliveries
Pick up catered meals and ensure timely delivery to the school
Assist with set-up, coordination, and clean-up of catered meals and special events
Prepare and maintain food and supply order lists for Director review and ordering
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas
Monitor inventory of snacks, beverages, and supplies; communicate restocking needs
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Support classrooms as needed with food-related requests
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in food service, childcare, or hospitality preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of basic food safety practices
ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
Work Environment:
Active school setting with frequent movement between kitchen and classrooms
Requires standing, lifting, and carrying food items and supplies
