  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced medical professional who will specialize as a patient advocate and care coordinator during our patient's treatment process at our facility. This role will be responsible for ensuring that each patient maintains their appointments at Nuva Ortho and Nuva PT and completes any diagnostic exams (MRI, Xray, etc.) in a timely manner. Responsibilities: • Provides guidance and education to patients specific to their treatment process • Tracks order completion and follow-up. Monitors patient compliance with referral orders to ensure patient completes necessary treatment (ie. MRI, Xray, follow-up with surgeon if patients case is surgical) • Assist patients with referrals to outside resources and ensures that the patient is compliant with their referral • Collaborates with the entire medical team and providers in the planning and implementation of patient care • Maintains accurate patient tracker to ensure all appointment requirements are met • Assist medical assistants with rooming patients as needed • Assist medical assistants with patient phone calls and EHR portal messages as needed • Participate in the orientation and training of the new staff Qualifications: • High school Diploma/GED (required) • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred) • 3-5 years experience as a medical assistant, surgery scheduler, or legal case manager preferred • The ideal candidate will have experience working for a surgeon or in a surgical setting • Strong desire for patient education and communication • Expert in EHR Documentation, Microsoft Office (Excel), Email • Detail-orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills • Bilingual (Spanish)-preferred Compensation: $18 - $22 hourly
