    POSITION OVERVIEW

    We are seeking a Head of Business Development to lead business development and licensing activities. You will play a key role in advancing our foundational delivery technology platforms and pipeline by identifying, architecting and executing a range of in-licensing, out-licensing and collaboration deals to advance the strategy of the company and maximize the impact of our technologies.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership in developing and executing a business development strategy

    • Source, evaluate, develop, structure, negotiate and close business and financial terms for in-licensing, out-licensing, discovery collaborations, etc.

    • Develop the strategic, scientific, financial, and business rationale for contemplated transactions through close collaboration with scientific, finance, and legal teams in order to present a compelling and clear case to leadership, resulting in sound investment and alliance decisions

    • Coordinate and lead due diligence processes

    • Analyze and assess the marketplace; develop and maintain competitive intelligence insights

    • Establish and foster external relationships aligned with business opportunities

    • Manage key strategic alliances post transaction

    • Routinely prepare and communicate business development updates and opportunities to  executive leadership team

    • Represent Nvelop Therapeutics with a high level of business integrity while adhering to all Company policies, procedures, and business ethics

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 10+ years in life sciences, including 8+ years of biopharma deal experience, as licensor and licensee
    • Strategic mindset; ability to navigate ambiguity to help set corporate strategy
    • Educational background and/or professional experience in a relevant scientific discipline
    • Robust deal sheet which demonstrates successful record of accomplishment and market reputation leading all phases of buy and sell side transactions, from initial engagement to cross-functional diligence, valuation, term sheet negotiation, deal closing and executive reporting
    • Collaborative working style with internal and external stakeholders
    • Confident, proactive approach; capable of taking initiative, independently networking and initiating productive communications
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and financial modeling skills, and demonstrated knowledge of intellectual property licensing agreements
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and influence a broad variety of stakeholders from scientists to senior management and board to reach common goals and facilitate decision-making process
    • Significant attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with consistent high quality
    • Thorough understanding of industry trends and competitive landscape

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Significant experience in gene therapy / editing and delivery
    • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
    • MBA or equivalent business/ financial experience
    • Biotech/ Life sciences start-up experience
