    A distinguished member of the top 100 AmLaw firms is seeking an experienced Equity Partner to establish and lead a new Finance Practice focused on serving credit unions and financial institutions in Denver, Colorado. This pivotal role is designed for a forward-thinking attorney with profound expertise in finance law, an exceptional track record in business development, and a visionary approach to building and nurturing a specialized team within a dynamic and supportive environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Practice Foundation and Growth: Spearhead the creation and strategic development of the Finance Practice, focusing on providing legal services to credit unions and financial institutions. The Equity Partner will be responsible for drafting and executing comprehensive business plans to build and expand the practice area, aligning with the firm's overarching strategic goals.
    • Team Leadership and Development: Assemble, mentor, and lead a team of finance law professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and professional growth. The Equity Partner will play a crucial role in talent acquisition, setting performance benchmarks, and promoting an inclusive and high-achieving workplace culture.
    • Client Advocacy and Representation: Offer top-tier legal counsel and representation across a spectrum of finance law matters, including regulatory compliance, transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation specific to credit unions and financial institutions. This entails hands-on involvement in complex cases, strategy development, leading negotiations, and representing clients in legal proceedings.
    • Business Development and Networking: Drive the practice's growth through strategic networking, identifying new business opportunities, and enhancing the firm's reputation in the finance sector. The Equity Partner will lead marketing efforts, participate in thought leadership, and engage in active client development and retention strategies.
    • Collaborative Firm Leadership: Collaborate with partners from other practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal services, ensuring the seamless integration of finance law strategies with clients' broader business objectives. As a senior member of the firm's leadership team, contribute to firm-wide strategic planning, policy development, and key decision-making processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Colorado Bar.
    • At least 10 years of significant experience in finance law, with a strong emphasis on working with credit unions and financial institutions. A substantial track record of leading teams and managing a considerable portfolio of business is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated expertise in developing a practice area, including strategic planning, team building, and business development.
    • Outstanding legal skills, particularly in negotiation, transaction structuring, and strategic planning, with a history of achieving successful outcomes in complex finance-related matters.
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining positive relationships within the team, across the firm, and with clients and the broader finance community.
    • A commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, ethical integrity, and promoting diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
