    100% Remote, Hack & Slash RPG Studio

    Our client is looking for a Senior Character Artist obsessed with developing new characters for combat-focused games! Our client’s recent title is all over ArtStation and is aesthetically IMPRESSIVE! Art is a big deal and a huge draw to the next series of unannounced RPG-focused projects.

    This studio is open to 100% remote. However, for those that want to go onsite, they have an amazing office in Toronto, Canada. 

    What are the responsibilities of the position?

    • Create exquisite high poly models of characters, creatures, vehicles, equipment, and props

    • Creation of game ready meshes with efficient UV layouts

    • Authoring thoughtful textures and materials

    • Actively collaborate and communicate with other departments

    • Importing optimized assets to engine and maintaining them through iteration

    • Help refine character creation pipeline to find efficiencies and maximize quality

    What are the minimum qualifications?

    • Character Artist with 8+ years experience in the games industry

    • Shipped at least one character-focused game

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Excellent 3D art skills (3D modeling, texturing, composition)

    • Relevant Software Knowledge of 3ds Max/Maya, Zbrush, Substance Suite, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop.

    • Familiarity of PBR materials, Texture mapping, character rigging fundamentals, and cloth simulation.

    What’s going to earn you brownie points?

    • Shipped titles in Unreal Engine 4

    • Examples of more than one artistic style

    • Experience with other areas of development

    • Perspective on shifting tools, workflows, techniques and quality bars in the industry

    • Additional skills and competencies that could benefit a game development team
