    Our client is looking for a Lead Game Designer that is both passionate and knowledgeable on creating engaging gameplay.

    You are experienced in level and systems design with shipped titles that demonstrate your range of experience. You are experienced in collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to create compelling, memorable user experiences. You are dedicated and organized, bringing cohesion to the world, the content, and the narrative of the game. You have experience leading junior to intermediate level designers, setting high standards and clear expectations.

    This is a full-time position in the Nashville, Tennessee area working on a new PC and console franchise.

    What are the responsibilities of the position?

    • Create exciting scenarios that support core gameplay and the creative vision of the game

    • Guide level designers to create a compelling world and user experience

    • Integrate created content via Unreal and proprietary tools

    • Author game tool, behavior, and content specifications for future content creation

    • Spearhead new features from concept to final gameplay

    • Ensure a noteworthy game through close collaboration with multidisciplinary team members

    • Collaborate with Senior Management, Game Designers and Play Testers to define and tweak game mechanics

    • Conduct gameplay evaluations providing feedback and suggestions to help fine tune and improve the user experience

    • Locate and fix bugs in both your own and your colleague’s work

    • Lead design team(s) as our company transitions into larger projects with greater resource needs

    What are the minimum requirements?

    • Proficiency in 3D authoring software such as Maya or 3DS Max

    • Experience and passion for level design

    • Minimum of 5 years game development with a Lead Designer contribution to at least one AAA title that shipped

    • Experience with Unreal 4 content tools and level editing pipelines

    • Ability to quickly adapt to new pipelines and content tools

    • Able to lead design pipeline/asset optimization, organization, and specifications

    • Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work efforts to meet objectives

    • Passion, enthusiasm, and experience with Player-vs-Enemy 3D action titles

    • Strong narrative skills with level design and storytelling

    • Experience conducting playtests autonomously

    • Excellent documentation skills to create clear, cohesive specifications and flow charts for content and behaviors

    What will help you get brownie points?

    • Multiple shipped AAA titles in Unreal Engine 4

    • Experience with multiplayer titles

    • Familiarity or adeptness with other areas of game development

    • Continued awareness of the latest tools, workflows, techniques, user experiences, and other development trends in the industry

    • Education or work experience in creating cohesive narratives with compelling fiction

    • Experience with public outreach, engaging or managing game communities

    • Additional skills and competencies that could benefit a game development team
