We are actively looking for a Senior Server Engineer for a gaming studio that has recently raised $15M in funding. They're currently working on two announced IPs and A16 is currently one of their lead investors.

In this role they're looking for someone to help define and build their game server architecture. This role will support gameplay, balancing their loads, maximizing their thread usage, and minimizing their bandwidth usage.

What are the minimum qualifications? 

• Expert fluency in C# or Java, preferably C#
• Expert data structures and algorithm skills
• Prior game development experience
• Experience with network and client/server programming
• Understanding of dynamic distributed systems
• Mastery of threading and concurrency
• Broad general understanding of game systems such as combat, physics, and pathfinding
• Experience with databases

What will earn you brownie points? 

• Experience creating monitoring and fault-recovery tools
• Experience developing for AWS or similar cloud hosting
• Experience with GPGPU programming
• Willingness to mentor other engineers
  
• Experience with MongoDB or other document-oriented data stores
• Degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience with functional programming (LISP, OCaml, Haskell, etc.)
