  • Responsibilities

    We are actively looking for a Principal Technical Artist (Director) responsible for the creation of bleeding edge shaders to create next generation terrains (Lava, Water, etc.) in the future of RPG games. This person will own the master materials that artists are using on multiple unannounced original IPs. This person will be obsessed with organizing shader files, shader types, and have an insane attention to detail.

    Their next game is heavily combat-focused, so the ideal candidate must adore 3D action combat games and action RPGs. Not only that, but we’re looking for someone excited to think about building the most realistic possible shaders in Unreal Engine 5, Cinematic-like experiences for a current IP released for PS5 and upcoming unannounced AAA titles.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write performant shaders that support PBR and Photogrammetry workflow.

    • Help establish and troubleshoot art creation and material pipelines.

    • Help define budgets and audit in-game shader performance.

    • Help artists to ensure that material assets are authored correctly.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years in game development.

    • Shipped one game with Unreal.

    • Shipped one game in a PBR art pipeline.

    • Strong knowledge of Photogrammetry pipeline.

    • Strong knowledge of Digital Content Creation suite such as Maya, Substance, Photoshop, and Houdini

    • Strong knowledge of Shading languages such as HLSL, GLSL..

    • Experience creating tools for artists.

    • Intermediate skill with Python, Qt for Python.

    • Familiarity with game performance evaluation tools.

    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

    • Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.

    • Experience with C++ is a plus
