    The New York office is seeking a 1st 5th year Associate for our Litigation Practice Group. McDermotts specialized team exclusively advises clients in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. This job posting is for a spot on the crypto team. This role focuses on crypto litigation, enforcement defense, and providing regulatory advice. In-depth crypto and blockchain knowledge is required. The ideal applicant has prior experience or a demonstrated interest in crypto law. Since the inception of the crypto industry, McDermott has been at the forefront of crypto litigation, government investigations, crypto-tracing, asset recovery, bankruptcy litigation, and regulatory advice.

    The crypto team at MWE is one of the only groups in the world that is Chambers Ranked for Crypto-Asset Disputes. The head of the group was recently recognized as a “Trailblazer” by the American Lawyer for his progressive work in Crypto and is one of ten lawyers that is Chambers Ranked in Crypto-Asset Disputes.

    Job Requirements:

    • Must be a current member of the New York bar
    • Must have outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier school and strong writing skills
    • Deep understanding about cryptocurrency and blockchain is required
    • Experience in cryptocurrency-related litigation, government investigations, or regulatory advice is preferred

     

     

    Expected Pay Range for Associates: 2023/2022 Class Compensation Years: $215,000

    2021 Class Compensation Years: $225,000

    2020 Class Compensation Years: $250,000

    2019 Class Compensation Years: $295,000

    2018 Class Compensation Years: $345,000

    2017 Class Compensation Years: $370,000

    2016 Class Compensation Years: $400,000

    2015 and more senior class compensation years: $415,000
