    Job Description

    The PLANT FOREHEARTH SPECIALIST / OPERATIONS ENGINEER is responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the forehearths to deliver quality glass to the IS Machine. They will supervisor workers that are responsible for the day to day activities required to maintain the plants forehearths, glass conditioning and glass job change set up.

    THE FOREHEARTH SPECIALIST / OPERATIONS ENGINEER WILL:

    • Maximize resource utilization of the feeder personnel to both maintain the forehearth operations and lead the necessary changes required.
    • Lead the forehearth maintenance program on all forehearths.
    • Manage the refractory requirements to maximize operational life in accordance with the replacement schedule.
    • Be responsible for ongoing visibility and cost center management of all costs associated to forehearth operations.

    THE FOREHEARTH SPECIALIST / OPERATIONS ENGINEER SHOULD HAVE:

    • Strong analytical skills and excellent problem solving skills.
    • Ability to supervise and lead people and processes in a manufacturing environment.
    • A strong interest and desire to work in a manufacturing, team oriented environment.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science or related Engineering field preferred.
    • Prefer internship and/or co-op experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
    • Strong communication, organization, planning and interpersonal skills
    • Computer literacy and proficiency
