Illini Environmental is in Caseyville, Illinois, and services the entire Midwest region. Illini Environmental Inc. is an EPA Permitted Non-Hazardous Disposal Facility that actively maintains environmental risk management to mitigate exposure to potential liability. We reduce environmental risk and produce new value stream for any product or process by redefining what it means to work with managed material.

An ILLINI Environmental hazmat tech will be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with site remediation, hazardous waste cleanup, industrial cleaning, demolition, excavation, emergency response, and much more. This position offers dynamic and self-motivated individuals a unique opportunity to acquire valuable training and knowledge and be a part of a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to releases, spills, and leaks and taking an aggressive role to stop the source by plugging, patching, or applying neutralizing agents

• Identify hazardous materials, assess risks, and estimate the size of endangered areas

• Implement control measures, construct barriers, and perform advanced mitigation techniques

• Don, Doff, and properly use various levels of PPE, including Level A suits, ensuring adherence to safety protocols

• Perform decontamination procedures for personnel, equipment, and job site

• Package, label, and transport hazardous waste for proper disposal

• Prepare detailed reports, maintain accurate inventory records, and document all cleanup activies for regulatory compliance

• Operate specialized handling equipment, maintain gear, and train other staff on safety procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)

• Ability to perform physical labor

• Flexibility in schedule (varied work hours, emergency/on-call work, and weekends)

• Willing to travel when needed

• Must have valid driver's license and adequate means of transportation

• Must be able to pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening

• 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER preferred, but not required
